Publishing and Operations Executive

Pothi.com is looking to hire a smart fresher in the role of Publishing and Operations Executive to support its growing business. The details are given below

Job Responsibilities

  • Interacting with customers, answering queries
  • Processing Book Submissions and managing our expanding storefront
  • Processing and tracking orders
  • Working with vendors to ensure that orders are completed in time
  • Managing publishing projects in coordination with customers, freelancers and vendors
  • Maintaining Bills and other paper work

Requirements

  • Graduation in any discipline (people with language/literature/arts background preferred)
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, particularly written/e-mail skills
  • Should be Internet savvy and very comfortable with using computer and various office programs
    • Doing a computer course is neither important nor an indication of right skills. You must be using Internet and Computer in day to day life.
  • Attention to details and sharpness of mind – you need to learn new things quickly and do it right
  • Good People Interaction skills – you will need to interact with vendors, customers and others
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment. We are a small team and work from a home-office.

Pothi.com is a start-up providing print-on-demand backed publishing platform. This is used by various individuals and organizations to publish their books with no or little upfront investment. It is the leading player in the domain with around 500 titles having been published through its platform. Pothi.com’s aim is to make publishing accessible to all.
Pothi.com was founded in 2008 by two IIT Kanpur graduates Abhaya Agarwal and Jaya Jha. Both of them did their B. Tech. in Computer Science.

Abhaya worked with a startup and then went for higher studies at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). After finishing his MS, he came back to India to work on Pothi.com full time.

Jaya did her MBA from IIM Lucknow, graduating as the batch topper. She skipped the placement process to work for a start-up and then for Google as one of their first Product Managers in India, before starting Pothi.com.
