Publishing Process

The basic publishing process at Pothi.com works as follows:
  • Author uploads the soft copy of the book to our site and provides basic information about the book along with it. This information includes production options (paper type, page size, binding etc.).
  • The book goes through a technical review (Please note that it is not a content review.

Submission Requirements

For each of the books to be published through Pothi.com, you need to submit two files
  • Interior: This should include all the pages in the book except the cover.
  • Cover: Cover should be submitted as a single file that contains front cover, back cover and spine in the right size.
Some important points to be noted are
  • Interior and Cover must be submitted separately.

Preparing Interior

Instructions for the interior:

  1. You can submit your books in the following file formats
    • Microsoft Word
    • Openoffice.org, Staroffice
    • pdf

    If you are using a program other than Microsoft Office, Openoffice.org or Staroffice to typeset your book, please convert it to pdf before submitting.

Preparing Cover

Instructions for the cover

  1. Cover has to be submitted as a single file in one of the following formats:
    • jpg/jpeg, tiff, png, bmp, PDF
  2. Cover should be a single page with back cover on the left, spine in the middle and front cover on the right. DO NOT submit SEPARATE front and back covers.
  3. All the images should be flattened.
  4. The images used should be of at least 300 DPI/PPI.
  5. You can use photoshop, coreldraw etc. to create the images.
