About the Authors

Vasu began his journey into writing since childhood, when he used to listen to the stories from his grandpa. His grandpa used to repeat most of the stories. On getting bored listening to the same stories he would insist him for new ones. One day, his grandpa said "Why don't you tell your own stories?"

These words fell strongly on Vasu’s ears and he began writing from April 1984. In 991, his stories ‘Naming the baby’ and “The Haunted tree” did finds it place in tinkle. In 2001 his story "Please forgive me" was published in the Asian age newspaper. In 2008, his story 'The last drop of tear' was selected in a short story contest and was published in the book titled 'Inner Voices' by Mirage Books. His favourite storytellers are Ruskin Bond, Rabindranath Tagore and O.Henry, whose excellent works had a great influence upon him.

Every writer creates a story in his own method and style and thus a story comes into being. Most of the stories written by Ravi have its origin from his personal experience and a bit of observation of the outer world. His first attempt on creating a short story was in a contest organised at his college during his graduation. It was then he had drafted ‘Straight from the heart’ but never knew it would win him the first prize. This paved the way for him to try his hand at story writing and thus he set forth his foot into the journey of this art. Until then, he just loved reading and was always inspired by stories written by Sri R.K. Narayan. He has a great liking towads the book Malgudi days. It made him realise that it is not important, how a story is written but more important is the influence that a theme of a story would leave on the minds of the readers. He writes stories mainly depicting the human emotions
