About the Author

I have completed my MSc. in Medical Toxicology in 2010 from Jamia Hamdard New Delhi and Bsc. in Biotechnology from TMBU Bihar.
At present I am working as a research scholar of life sciences in Jharkhand in my native town Godda. I adore poetry, music, paintings, philosophy, natural science, neuroscience and psychology.
I started writing at the age of 11 and been published my poems in Hindi and English simultaneously in various genera in school, magazines and news papers. I am awarded several times for my poems, paintings and pencil sketching during this journey. Some of my sketches related to the poems are included in this book;
I am thankful to my friend Karen Marie Hart who inspired me to recollect my scattered scripts and sentiments to compose this book.

Shahnawaz Ahmed's first book of poetry, MIRAGE, is beautiful. Each poem is a lyrical gift.

While reading the poems in MIRAGE, I kept envisioning words dancing across the blue and white expanse of a sky wearing white, puffy clouds. I think this happened because the poems are beautiful and uplifting, even when they speak of sorrow. I couldn't help but feel elevated while reading MIRAGE.

Shahnawaz also illustrated MIRAGE and each illustration adds another layer of beauty to the book. You could meditate on a poem or an illustration and then be inspired to create something unique and wondrous, yourself.

I highly recommend MIRAGE to all poetry lovers, and if you're not a lover of poetry, try MIRAGE and see if it can change your mind.
