Description of "An Introduction To Indian Pentecostal Theology & History"

"An introduction to Indian Pentecostal History & Theology" by Rev. T.P. Easo is a brief survey and inquiry into the history and theology of the Pentecostal churches in India. This is perhaps the first book in English on these topics. It contains discussions of all major doctrines of Christian churches with special emphasis to the generally approved doctrines of the Pentecostal churches in India.

It also describes the origin and spread of Pentecostalism in different countries including India. The bibliography and indexes at the end of the book, enhance the book's aroma.

The following words of the three eminent men will demonstrate the merit of the book:

Dr. Vinson Synan, Dean Emeritus, Regent University, Virginia Beach, USA: T. P. Easo’s "An Introduction to Indian Pentecostal Theology and History" is a welcome and competent work that shows the maturing of Pentecostalism in India as well as the rest of the world. This book will fill a unique place in the world of Pentecostal theology.

Dr. Thomson K. Mathew, Dean in ORU, OK, USA: This book ... by T. P. Easo is a thoughtful combination of theology and church history... written from the perspective of a participant observer.

Rev. K. V. Paul Pillai, Grace Bible College, Haryana, India: I read the manuscript of your book ... I found the whole writings
most useful and well-written.

About the author(s)

Rev. T.P. Easo hails from Kerala, in South India. But major part of his life (more than 34 years, from 1962 to 1996) he spent his time in North India. In those days, besides serving in the Indian Railway, he was also associated with several Christian activities there. By virtue of being the member of an early Pentecostal family in Kerala (India) he has attained candid knowledge in the history and theology of Pentecostalism in India. In fact, his grand father's younger brother, Kunchachedathu Cherian was a close associate of Rev. George E. Berg, the first missionary from USA who preached Pentecostal messages in Kerala from 1909 to 1914. So whatever we read in this book on early history of Pentecostalism in India may be considered reliable. His theological insight into Classical Pentecostalism is also superb.
