The Book is a collection of articles analyzing the major Economy & Business events of the financial year 2016-17. The book attempts to reach out to all youngsters, particularly, those studying management, banking and economics to help them build a perspective on current events through simplified yet engaging analysis of economy and business events. This would not only prepare them for their job interviews but also because it is important for them all to have a broad understanding of these issues to evolve as smarter professionals. Recently, Mumbai University adopted Economic Survey as part of their course curriculum. The book is broadly on those lines, except that it deals with many more issues but does not go into too much depth.
The book would also be extremely useful to the students appearing in Management, Banking, Civil Services and similar entrance exams with an objective to help them prepare for GD/WAT/PI etc. The book can also be a good read for overseas readers who wish to understand India without wasting too much time.
Other than the articles on Economy, Policy, Banking etc, the book also delves on corporate failures and decisions gone wrong. The “Corporate” section provides considerable insights on how things go wrong. Reminds me of what Nokia CEO said, “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. The endeavor is to keep the articles simple and focus on broad trends/ insights rather than on numbers so that it appeals to the younger minds and does not get boring.
