Description

Srimad Bhagavatam, also known as the Bhagavata Purana, is one of the eighteen great Puranas and promotes devotion towards Lord Krishna. The original text reveals the essence of the Vedās. The Bhagavatam is an elixir for good men who read or listen to it.

Srimad Bhagavatam, by Shri. C.P. Balachandran Nair, is a concise English version of the original Bhagavatam and is for people who have difficulty in reading, understanding and comprehending the original text/translations in Sanskrit/Regional languages. The book is written in a lucid and understandable language without compromising on the originality of the work and the quality of the content.

This condensed version of the Srimad Bhagavatam by Sri. C P Balachandran Nair would be of interest to senior school students, youths and their parents, who have had their education in English medium schools. It is for them who have not lost all the religious fabric that the author has made this effort of bringing out the Srimad Bhagavatam in a shortened form. They will indeed find it useful.
The gems of advice found in the Bhagavata Purana has been retained in this book as well, and the readers will become aware of the richness of values in ancient India by reading this.

This book has retained the style of narration as found in the original text and has as many cantos and chapters as is in the original text. This is despite being concise. Therefore, the readers will find it useful while listening to discourses (Saptaham) on the Bhagavatam.
