Dr. Farah Deeba is a Scientist and an Artiste. She completed her Ph. D. in Agriculture Entomology & Plant Pathology (G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Tech, Pantnagar, 1996) and further specialized in Intellectual Property Protection (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, 2005). Farah worked in the Agriculture industry for thirteen years. Her scientific publications include papers in reputed National and International journals; she also has patents in Agriculture Biotech. Farah is a prolific writer. She writes prose, poetry and lyrics in English and Hindi. She is the author of – ‘Corporate Curry’ (2011, English, Fiction), ‘Natakrangotri’ (2012, Hindi, Non-fiction, Biography) and ‘Zindagi ka Saaz’ (2013, Hindi Lyrics & Ghazal Album). She is learning Hindustani Classical (Vocal) from Ubhayagaanvidushi Sangeetkalaratna Guru Dr. Shyamala G. Bhaveji, Nadopasaka Shri Vageesh Bhatji and Vidwaan Shri Gurunandan Kallianpurji of Saraswati Sangeet Vidyalaya, Bangalore. Her inclination is towards an ensemble of Music rich in Phalsafa (Philosophy), Sahitya (literature) and Raagdari (Raag-based music). She also has keen interest in Raagmala paintings. Farah lives in Bangalore with her husband, Dr. M. Feroz Khan and daughter, Fiza Khan.
