Description

Climate Change is mostly caused by energy, not people. Paul Fenn led an America municipal revolt against fossil fuel monopolies through the writing and passage of Community Choice laws in key U.S. states, and a "re-invention of the grid" to turn energy on its head. A new vision of decentralized energy has developed into a whole new level and magnitude of energy localization - processes and ideas that redefine policy discussions around renewable energy, deregulation/liberalization, and the smart grid. THIS IS NOT A THEORY covers diverse subjects related to the massive and complex world of energy, representing the defiant, hubristic ideas of an author in the throes of revolutionizing energy.

About the Author

Paul Douglas Fenn is an author of both laws and essays, a campaigner and politician: an anomaly within political circles as a theoretician concerned with the Big Picture, and equally foreign among academic circles for his "trespass" from his degrees in History and Philosophy into politics, law, regulation, and ultimately energy engineering. Mr. Fenn is Founder & President of Local Power Inc. (localpower.com), based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is the publisher of THE LOCAL ORGANON (local.org), a web site and FM radio show in Point Reyes, California, and author of many published essays and articles on energy, climate change, politics, philosophy, history, technology, architecture, and economics in the U.S., Europe and South America - most recently co-authoring a book, ENLIGHTENMENT IN AN AGE OF DESTRUCTION, with Eduardo Subirats (New York University) and Christopher Britt (George Washington University). Mr. Fenn lives and works on a farm in the forests of Mendocino County, California.
