"Kisi ki majboori par yun hansaa naa kar Bawa; ghar ki izzat ko tawaaif bante der nahi lagti".... I was wondering while reading Samanvay that with what precision this young poet has put in his frustration towards the growing callousness of the society...His apparent graceful suggestion through the couplet is actually a hitting mimicry of our modern society..... (Bawa is the last name of the poet)....

A must read for all the connoisseurs of literature ( be it Hindi or Urdu); and a very good read for the commoners too... Deep thinking, choicest use of words, precision in expression of thoughts, and adept use of language... I found all these qualities in abundance in Ashq's creations....

Pangs of pain and horizons of hope... both grab equal space in Ashq's writings..
This balance is important...... and Ashq has been successful in maintaining this balance throughout....

I loved the way Ashq expresses his wishful desire in Chahat: "Deewaron chhaton se ghar banta nahi hai; apne ghar mein Maa jaisi shafaa chaahtaa hoon....."

Good job... I say this not from a critic's angle ; but from a common reader's heart....

This is my second review for the book. More I read more I like it...
But I feel that the author should have included more number of plays at the end.
Talking about the plays, the first one is out of this world.
I really like the concept. Keep up the good work.

I think this is a must read..

It is hard to beleive the depth which Ashq has covered in his poems. I am not sure what is his age but his work shows that he has come off the age and shown maturity in his thoughts and words.

His style is not as expected by the poets, he has very bravely used Hindi and Urdu words to perfection...

I must say, this is a very good read and should be in the collection of those who love poetry.

They say “Small is beautiful”. Though I never thought the same …. However, I have just finished reading this book (which I came across somehow), and it has not only proved the saying right, but has given me something to delve upon as well. From the outside, Samanvay looks like a small book (which makes one think that you could almost gulp it in one go), but as one goes through the poems, it makes you think .. and absorb .. and appreciate the content. I would describe my experience going through the book as heartening and depressing at the same time, feeling hope and foreboding. The author’s expression of feelings seems lucid at one instant, and yet surreal at the other.

So upon first look, though it seems like a highly unimposing book; but inside it works on different states of the emotional self. It's like a domino with each one affecting the other. Especially “Khayal yeh bhi toh khoobsurat hai”, “Talaash” and “Yun tu mujhe manzuur kare” are my personal favorites. Though I am not much of a Hindi Literature and Poetry critic .. but for me there is only one word to describe the quality of poems and the plays (towards the end), and that is Exceptional!

You don't just read the poems, you feel them. The book is a real emotional ride. The sketches are well placed as well. This is intended to seduce us, mess with our emotions and leave an ever-lasting impression!
