People harbor misconceptions that the study and practice of the Upanishads is meant for the saints (those away from materialistic life) or by those who are ready for retirement from an active work life or materialistic world. Some tend to associate the Upanishads with a particular religion while others go to the extent of referring to them as made-up stories. I would like to impress upon these ignorant minds that the Upanishads teach us the right way of life and is meant solely for the development of the Self.
Life is a puzzle and the Aitareya Upanishad helps put the pieces together. This astonishing piece of literature unlocks the secrets of human life and answers the most obvious queries with shocking ease. The Story of Me is Swamy Muralidharan’s quest to understand the why we are, what we are.
The Aitareya Upanishad is about the cosmic man being the individual entity that rose as a result of the thirst and hunger of the indriyas (sense organs). The vasanas were brought back into the Jivathma into the unmanifested state because of the thirst and hunger of the indriyas to acquire more experience. The karana sharira (causal body) has to be eliminated and this process of the body’s evolution has been explained through the example of Mah¡arishi Vamadeva.
Aitareya Upanishad comes with an audio CD of the entire discourse on the Upanishad.
