Vijay, a boy living in an orphanage finds a mentor in Vijay - the larger then life film persona. Vijay, transcending beyond his film roles, visits the boy in various forms - as a dock worker, a love- smitten poet , a coin tossing outlaw, a bumbling street artiste, and a cold blooded ruthless underworld don.
