Music Workbook (Book 1)

Description

This is the first book in a music course designed for classes 2 to 8 at Divine Intervention School. It introduces the basics of staff notation and tonic solfa. The aim is to prepare every student for any future musical activities by offering them the chance to gain fluency in notation and theory. Each lesson contains workbook activities. Practice exam questions are also included for each unit.

This is the first edition, designed exclusively for students at Divine Intervention School, Mizoram. Future editions might be designed for a wider audience.

About the Author

Joanna Heath has a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Durham University, where she researched the congregational singing of Christian communities in Mizoram. She is an experienced church pianist and has a classical orchestral background, holding a Diploma in bassoon performance. Her teaching experience has ranged from primary school to university level, both in India and the UK. Now settled in Mizoram, she has been teaching music at Divine Intervention School since 2016, where she also gives recorder and piano tuition.

Music education should be made essential in every school of our country according to my point of view because it refreshes the minds of students.
